Thanks for taking the time to respond. While you may be right with regards to the exact wording of the original version of the joke, I’ve heard and read this joke in several forms. In either form it’s funny IMO and more importantly, in either case, the point I was trying to make is still a valid one. The bear refers to one thing and the rabbit understands something completely different which emphasises the importance of communication. In my defence, as opposed to your comment, my article did not waste a single word on trying to explain why the joke is funny. Cheers
